FIGHT ON FOR JON
"Jon was one of the most loving and caring people I've ever met. He made me feel like I had known him and had been best friends with him our entire lives. He had a contagious personality of excitement and love that passed on through everyone around him."
- Eugene Chong, USC teammate
"Jon was an inspirational and caring friend and teammate who was passionate about water polo and life. He was confident, enthusiastic, and made others play better with him. We will miss him dearly, but will honor him by carrying on his fighting spirit."
- Mac Carden, USC teammate
"Jon was one of the most universally loved people I have ever met. He was a champion in the pool and an even better person out of it. I'm going to miss him every day for the rest of my life. We love you Jon."
- Aleck Ryner, USC teammate
"Jonny Boy, you are one of the most incredible people I have met. It is not every day that you meet somebody that has the ability to touch each and every person they meet in such a positive way. Your enthusiasm, smile and laugher were contagious to everyone who met you and I will miss it very much. I know that my life will be changed forever after knowing you and I am a better person for it. You were one of the hardest workers and toughest players I have ever met and I am so glad I got to share the battlefield with with you. I love you mate. Heaven is better place with you up there. TEAM BIG FOREVER! 'It's going to be a big man day!'"
- Jeremy Davie, USC teammate
"Jon wasn't your average teammate. He had the heart of a Trojan. He was always the warrior we needed in the water and the gentle giant out of the water. Anyone who was able to talk to Jon for even a brief moment could witness how unique he was and knew Jon was destined for bigger and better things. I know that he will forever live on in our hearts and can never leave our thoughts."
- Connor Virjee, USC teammate
"Jon was the nicest, most caring and best teammate anyone could ever ask for. He always had his friends' backs and would do anything for his friends and family. I will miss his great attitude with so much passion playing water polo and always put his teammates first. I am very privileged to have known Jon. I will miss him greatly but will always remember Jon as a warrior, legend, and a great mate."
- Mace Rapsey, USC teammate
"Jon was a great Trojan, and an outstanding young man from a wonderful family. He and his family were loved by all of us on the USC water polo team. I am deeply saddened, and I speak for our team in saying that this is a terrible loss of a friend and teammate. Our prayers go out to Jon's family in hopes that they find comfort." - Jovan Vavic, USC head coach
"I'm so tired but I can't sleep
Standin' on the edge of something much too deep
It's funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word
We are screaming inside but we can't be heard
