Devon Kennard Named Lott IMPACT Trophy Quarterfinalist

USC senior outside linebacker Devon Kennard has been named one of 20 quarterfinalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy, award sponsor The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation announced today (Oct. 23).
Kennard, who has started 25 games in his career, has 33 tackles in 2013, with 6.5 for losses, including a team-high 4.5 sacks. He also has 3 pass deflections, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He was named a Lott IMPACT Player of the Week for his performance in USC's 2013 season opener at Hawaii.
The Lott IMPACT Trophy to the nation's top defensive impact player and is named after former USC All-American and NFL All-Pro safety Ronnie Lott. Eight semifinalists for the award will be announced Nov. 13, then four finalists will be announced Nov. 27 and the winner will be named at the 10th annual Lott IMPACT Trophy Banquet Dec. 8 at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach. The university of the winner will receive $25,000 for its general scholarship fund and each of the other finalists will receive $5,000 for their schools' general scholarship fund.
Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott will be the keynote speaker and the awards ceremony will be televised on FOX Sports beginning at 7 p.m Pacific time.
