Senior Lisa McCloskey and freshman Doris Chen were each named to the 2012 All-Pac-12 first team while sophomore Sophia Popov and senior Inah Park were also honored, the conference announced Tuesday (May 1).
Chen earned the honor two days after winning the Pac-12 individual title. The award was the second in a row for McCloskey. Popov earned All-Pac-12 second team after nabbing first team as a freshman while Park received honorable mention honors, her first career conference award.
USC has had at least three golfers represented on the All-Pac-12 teams each year since 2000, all under the guidance of 16th-year head coach Andrea Gaston.
Chen's conference crown was the first of her collegiate career and her fourth top 10 finish this season and the fifth in the top 11.
McCloskey tied for fifth at the Pac-12s for her team-best seventh top 10 finish. She also leads the squad in stroke average at 72.50 to Chen's 72.65.
Popov, who tied with McCloskey in fifth last week, has four top 10 finishes this year and one win. Park earned her first career conference honor with five top 20 finishes, including three in the top 15.
