Danielle Lao Reaches NCTC Singles Final

LA QUINTA, CALIF. -- USC junior Danielle Lao has a big day ahead, having worked her way into the singles title match and the doubles semifinals with teammate Alison Ramos after a winning Saturday out at the National Collegiate Tennis Classic.
The No. 3 seed in the singles draw, Lao has powered her way into Sunday's final against top-seeded Emily Fraser of Virginia. To get there, Lao dispatched Texas' Elizabeth Begley and Fresno State's Katarena Pallivets with matching 6-1, 6-1 decisions. In the semifinals, Lao outlasted Virginia's Li Xi with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 three-setter to punch her ticket to the title match.
In doubles, Lao teamed up with Alison Ramos as the No. 4 seeded pair, punching through the first two rounds to earn a semifinal slot against top-seeded Fraser/Zi of Virginia today.
