
Ian Kennedy Picked For All-Star Game Final Vote

LOS ANGELES -- Five players in the National League, including former USC and current Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Ian Kennedy, have been selected for the All-Star Game Final Vote after rosters for both leagues were announced Sunday.
Kennedy will have a chance to pitch in his own ballpark as the Diamondbacks will host the 2011 All-Star Game next weekend in Phoenix. As the Diamondbacks No. 1 starter this season, Kennedy is 8-2 with a 3.01 ERA. He has thrown 116 2/3 innings, allowing only 97 hits with opponents hitting just .227 against him while striking out 97 batters.
In his three seasons at USC (2004-06), Kennedy went 24-12 with a 3.09 ERA and finished third all-time with 380 strikeouts behind Rik Currier (449) and Seth Etherton (420).
