
Ricky Oropesa Named All-Pac-10 Conference

LOS ANGELES -- Junior first baseman Ricky Oropesa (Rancho Cucamonga/Etiwanda) was selected to the 2011 All-Pac-10 Conference Team as selected in a vote of conference coaches, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.
Oropesa led the Trojans this season with a .322 batting average, seven home runs and 44 RBI. It was the second time in his career that Oropesa earned All-Pac-10 honors.
Joe De Pinto, Kevin Roundtree and Alex Sherrod received honorable mention for the Trojans.
De Pinto, a senior second baseman, batted .300 with 11 doubles, 24 RBI and nine stolen bases. Roundtree, a junior catcher, batted .308 with a home run and 11 RBI. He threw out 39% of base runners against him this season (30-of-77). Sherrod, a junior outfielder, batted .318 with 11 doubles, six home runs and 35 RBI.
