
Ricky Oropesa Named ESPN Preseason All-American

LOS ANGELES -- Junior first baseman Ricky Oropesa (Rancho Cucamonga/Etiwanda HS) was named to the 2011 ESPN Preseason All-America Team, the third preseason honor he has received so far.
He earned Baseball America Preseason All-America first team honors as well as Louisville Slugger Preseason All-America second team honors.
Oropesa led the Trojans in the triple crown categories last season with a .353 batting average, 20 home runs and 67 RBI. He also hit 22 doubles, recorded a .711 slugging percentage and led the team with seven stolen bases as he earned Baseball America All-America second team honors.
USC opens the 2011 season by hosting a tournament this weekend (Feb. 18-20) that will feature Cal Poly, Missouri and North Carolina at Dedeaux Field.
