Exhibition Intrasquad Kicks Off Swim, Dive Season

The USC men's and women's swimming and diving teams kick off the 2010-2011 season with the annual exhibition Cardinal and Gold Intrasquad meet on Friday (Sept. 24) at USC's McDonald's Swim Stadium at 11 a.m.
The USC women are coming off a seventh-place finish at the 2010 NCAA Championships and return six All-Americans, including juniors Katinka Hosszu and Victoria Ishimatsu, seniors Presley Bard and Lyndsay DePaul and sophomores Haley Anderson and Jessica Schmitt.
The men's squad, featuring returning All-Americans sophomores Clement Lefert and Nick Karpov and junior Patrick White, was 11th at the NCAAs last year. Junior diver Harrison Jones, an All-American as a freshman, also returns.
Both squads are bolstered by recruiting classes ranked among the top in the nation.
Said USC fifth-year head coach Dave Salo: "The kids have come into the semester with a great focus on having a great season. I think they are ready to post up some strong performances at the intrasquad meet. We have some outstanding freshman athletes ready to make their mark as Trojans."
