Trojans Post Three Wins At Head Of American

USC had a strong day at the Head of the American in Sacramento, Calif., at Lake Natoma with wins in the pairs, fours and eights on Saturday (Oct. 30).
USC's B pair of Ivana Filipovic and Liene Stuberovska won the pairs in 19:41.03 while Vineta Moca and Helen Tinkus was third in 20:11.40.
Troy won the fours as cox Dionne Licudine, Iskra Angelova, Jelena Zelnovic, Anna Weirzbowska and Ewa Tymoszewska won in 18:20.46, taking first by more than a minute.
USC's B squad of cox Jennah Blau, Iskra, Angelova, Stuberovska, Filipovic, Zelenovic, Gabi Zarate De Macedo, Magda Janicka, Kate McFetridge and Kinga Mikolajczyk won the eights in 16:38.87.
"We had a good day at the Head of the American winning all three events that we entered," head coach Zenon Babraj said. "It looks like we have a very promising team with a good mixture of experience and youth. The quality and depth of our squad this year is also very encouraging."
