Erdelyi places 14th At Pac-10 Cross Country Championships

Senior Zsofia Erdelyi finished 14th individually and the USC women's cross country team placed 10th at the Pac-10 Cross Country Championships held at Jefferson Golf Course in Seattle, Wash. today (Oct. 30).
Erdelyi finished with a time of 20:30.27 as just 18.01 seconds separated the fifth through 14th place finishers. Fourteenth place was the highest Erdelyi has placed at the Pac-10s, with her previous best being a 17th place finish as a sophomore.
Senior Christine Cortez was USC's next finisher at 55th (50 in scoring) with a time of 21:41.06, just 10 seconds off her personal best. Senior Dina Kitayama was next in 68th place (58) with a time of 22:06.87, just six seconds off her PR and nearly 24 seconds better that she ran at the 2009 Pac-10 Championships.
Finishing fourth for USC was junior Leah Gaeta in 82nd place (68) with a time of 22:47.27. Right behind her was sophomore Kelly Owen in 83rd place (69) with a time of 22:50.70, 16 seconds off her PR. Next was senior Zara Lukens in 84th place (69) with a time of 22:51.24 and redshirt sophomore Jessica Lundin was USC's final runner in 88th place (70) with a time of 23:08.96.
The Trojans finished five points out of 9th and 12 points out of eighth place.
Oregon's Jordan Hasay won the meet with a time of 19:44.95 and Stanford won the team title with a total of 62 points.
