NCAA Champs Add Three For 2009

The USC men's water polo team has signed a talented class of three new Trojans for the 2009 season, setting up the USC squad for a strong defense of its 2008 NCAA Championship. Maxx Bricklin, Jesse Gillespie and Stephen Siri have all signed national letters of intent this week, USC head coach Jovan Vavic announced today.
"All these guys are very smart players," Vavic said. "They will all have an impact and play immediately."
A lefty out of Arroyo Grande High School, Jesse Gillespie is a lefty who won gold with the U.S. Junior National Team in Brazil last summer.
"He's a great shooter and we definitely need a lefty," Vavic said of Gillespie.
Stephen Siri is a two-time North Coast Section Player of the Year out of Miramonte High School in Orinda, Calif. He's also been a member of the U.S. Junior National Team and comes from a strong Bay Area water polo program.
"Stephen is an outstanding all-around player and is very smart," Vavic said of Siri." He's the ultimate team player and a tenacious defender."
Maxx Bricklin has competed with the U.S. Cadet Team and hails from Harvard Westlake High School
"Max is big and very fast," Vavic said of Bricklin. "He's an outstanding shooter and utility player."
"They're all the best players in their areas," Vavic said of the group. "It's a very good class, and we also hope to have the group grow with more players coming in."
