USC Quartet Wins 4x800m Race At Texas Relays

USC's track foursome of senior DaSean Cunningham, senior Raphael Asafo-Agyei, junior Irec Sekretarski and junior Duane Solomon won the 4x800m relay race at the Texas Relays held in Austin, Tex. today (April 5) with the second-fastest time in school history.
The Trojans' winning time of 7:18.43 defeated the event's defending champion and second-place finisher Oral Roberts by more than a second and a half (7:20.07). Cunningham ran a 1:51.6 split, followed by Asafo-Agyei who ran a 1:49.7, Sekretarski a 1:50.3 and Solomon a 1:46.8.
The USC school record in the 4x800m is 7:17.4 by John Link, Bruce Bess, Dave Buck and Dennis Carr set on May 13, 1966.
The current Trojan quartet will compete in the distance medley race on Saturday, with Solomon running the 1200m, Cunningham the 400m, Asafo-Agyei the 800m and Sekretarski the 1600m.
