USC Track and Field's Madison Whyte and Eddie Nketia Receive Big Ten Athlete of the Championship Recognition

LOS ANGELES — The Big Ten conference announced Athletes of the Big Ten Championships on Wednesday. USC Track and Field's Madison Whyte and Edward Nketia received Women's Track and Men's Track Athlete of the Championships, respectively.
Madison Whyte contributed to 40 points for the Women of Troy, bringing home four gold medals in the 4x100m relay, 200m, 400m and 4x400m relay.
The women's 4x100m relay recorded a new meet record of 42.85 and slotted in at the No. 10 time in USC history on their way to a gold medal. Whyte won the women's 400m in 51.01 and contributed to the Trojans' 23 points in the 200m in 21.78 (+6.0 m/s). The women's 4x400m relay closed out the day with one more gold-medal finish in a meet-record time of 3:28.52.
Nketia secured two of the USC men's four Big Ten titles, winning the 100m and 200m.
In the 100m, he took home the gold in a new Australian all-conditions best time of 9.74 (+5.6 m/s). This time also ranks No. 2 all-time in the NCAA (all-conditions). He continued his dominance in the 200m with another gold out of lane nine in 20.03 (+7.5 m/s). With these two wins, Nketia was the highest point scorer for the Trojan men at 20 points.
Nketia, Whyte and the Trojans head to NCAA West Regionals next week. Events begin Wednesday, May 27 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Information can be found at usctrojans.com and live updates will be available on Instagram and X @usc_track_field.
