Cho, USC Win Titles At Peg Barnard Classic

Senior Irene Cho won her third tournament of the season while leading USC to its second tourney win of the year at the two-day Peg Barnard Collegiate at Stanford (Calif.) Golf Course.
USC won the event by two strokes, its 588 edging Cal's 590. Troy's previous win this season was at the Kent Youel Invitational in the fall. The Women of Troy, who had a 298 on Saturday, tied Stanford for low round Sunday with 290.ß
Cho fired a tournament-low 67 to take individual title honors, carding a 5-under 137 for the weekend. She won by six strokes, with San Francisco's Jessica Potter second (143).
Cho also won this year at the Guadalajara (Mexico) Invitational and the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. She now has four career first-place finishes (including one tie).
Sophomore Paola Moreno (75-75) and junior Veronica Felibert (74-76) tied for 16th as USC's second-highest finishers with 150s. Sophomore Dewi-Claire Schreefel tied for 31st with a 153 (79-74) and junior Catalina Marin tied for 38th with a 155 (81-74).
Freshman Shelcie Takenouchi tied for 76th (167).
