Several Trojans Compete At The Triton Invitational In San Diego

Juniors Adam Midles (2nd), Noah Bryant (7th) and William Denbo (13th) all set personal bests in the hammer throw at the Triton Invitational in San Diego, Calif. this weekend (April 21-22).
Midles had a throw of 216-9 (66.06) to improve his seventh-place standing on the all-time USC hammer throw list by eight inches. Bryant had a throw of 200-7 (61.14) and Denbo 179-4 (54.67) to also achieve personal bests. Also competing for the Trojans in the hammer were junior Kevin Swartz (162-6), freshman Mike Curiel (155-8) and sophomore Jekabs Sliede (140-11).
Denbo also threw the shot 55-8 1/4 (16.97) to place 10th. Trojan men pole vaulters clearing 15 feet were Brad Slinkard (15-9), junior Graham Bockmiller (15-3), senior Jacob Hamman (15-3) and sophomore Daniel Corrigan (15-3).
In the women's hammer throw competition, freshman Eva Orban finished second with a throw of 210-6 (64.16) and junior Julia Rozenfeld fifth with a throw of 193-5 (58.96).
Junior USC record-holder in the discus Kate Hutchinson placed 12th in the discus with a throw of 166-9 (50.83). The Trojan pole vault record-holder freshman Brysun Stately cleared 12-5 1/2 (3.80m) to place tied for seventh and senior Shannon Lewallen tied for 12th with a pole vault of 12-1 1/2 (3.70m).
Junior Christina Eads, USC's only runner competing in the meet, ran a 19.58.69 in the 5000m race to finish 16th.
