
Rowing To Race On The Potomac River

The USC women's rowing team travels to Washington D.C. this week to compete at the 17th annual GW Invitational Crew Classic. The eight-team regatta, hosted by George Washington, will take place on Saturday, April 10, on the Potomac River.
The races will be run on four lanes on the 2,000-meter course with the finish line at the Kennedy Center. Two heats are schedule in the morning with the two top crews of each heat advancing to the afternoon's grand final. The third and fourth-place heat finishers will advance to the petite final. Racing begins at 9 a.m. on and concludes at 4 p.m. with the varsity eight grand final.
USC will face crews from Tennessee, Columbia, Navy, Georgetown, Saint Joseph's, West Virginia and George Washington as the teams compete for one of the coveted GW Invitational trophies. The Women of Troy will race a Varsity Eight, JV Eight and Varsity Four boat, utilizing similar lineups to those used at last week's San Diego Crew Classic.

11:20 a.m.- Varsity Eight Heat 1 (Navy, USC, West Virginia, St. Joseph's)
12:50 p.m. Varsity Four Petite Final
1 p.m.- Varsity Four Grand Final
2:30 p.m.- JV Eight Petite Final
2:40 p.m.- JV Eight Grand Final
3:10 p.m.- Varsity Eight Petite Final
3:20 p.m.- Varsity Eight Grand Final
