USC Takes First Step At MPSF Championship

LOS ANGELES -- Senior Cameron Kaiser scored four goals, including three key goals late, as the No. 3-seeded USC Trojans defeated the No. 6-seeded California Golden Bears, 10-8, in men's water polo first round overtime action at the MPSF Championship.
USC improves to 21-4 on the season.
Down 7-6 late in the fourth, Kaiser scored the game-tying goal with 60 seconds remaining at Stanford's Avery Aquatic Center. Kaiser scored two more goals in the first overtime period while Trevor Clark added an insurance goal in the second overtime period.
Don Ricci recorded nine saves in goal for the Trojans. USC advances to semifinal action tomorrow against the winner of the Stanford-Pepperdine match at 6:30 p.m.
