Bret Boone Wins American League Gold Glove

LOS ANGELES -- Bret Boone, a member of the Seattle Mariners, won the American League Gold Glove for second baseman today. It is Boone's first Gold Glove with the Mariners and his second career honor after earning one with the Cincinnati Reds in 1998.
He led AL second basemen with a .989 fielding percentage, with seven errors in 645 total chances.
Boone played for USC from 1988-90. During his Trojan career, he batted .304 with 29 HR and 160 RBI.
