
Baseball Picked Fourth In Collegiate Baseball Preseason Poll

TUCSON, Ariz. -- The USC baseball team was selected fourth in the Fabulous 40 Preseason Poll, released today by Collegiate Baseball. The Trojans are behind top-ranked Stanford, Florida State and Tulane.
USC finished 45-19 overall last year and won the Pac-10 Conference championship with an 18-6 mark. The Trojans made its 21st appearance at the College World Series, going 1-2 in Omaha. It was the first time that the Trojans made back-to-back trips to Omaha since 1973 and 1974.
Collegiate Baseball also named junior pitcher Anthony Reyes as a first team preseason All-American selection while junior catcher Alberto Concepcion earned third team honors.
The 2002 schedule will begin on Feb. 8 with a three-game series at Long Beach State, beginning at 6:05 p.m.
