Men's Water Polo Finishes Fifth At MPSF Championships

BERKELEY, Calif. - The third-seeded USC Trojans rode a strong fourth quarter to solidly defeat the fourth-seeded Pepperdine Waves, 10-6, at Berkeley's Spieker Aquatics Complex. The win gives the Trojans 5th place in the MPSF Tournament. USC finishes the 2001 season with a 13-7 record.
The Trojans featured a balanced attack that saw four players score two goals apiece. Sophomore goalie Bozidar Damjanovic continued his solid performance in the tournament, blocking 10 shots. Greg Lonzo highlighted for Pepperdine, scoring four of the Waves' six goals. Michael Soltis grabbed six saves for Pepperdine.
