Jennifer Vail Places Sixth In Hammer

Durham, N.C. - Jennifer Vail earned All-American honors for the second consecutive year by taking sixth place in the women's hammer throw as competition got underway on Wednesday at the 2000 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships being held at Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham, N.C., on Wednesday-Saturday (May 31-June 3).
Vail, a junior from Palm Springs, threw 201-11 (61.54) on her final attempt to earn three points for the Women of Troy. At last year's NCAA meet in Boise, Vail finished sixth with a mark of 193-2.
Vail is the Women of Troy record-holder in the hammer with a mark of 204-3 set on May 21 at the PAC-10 Championships.
