Women Of Troy Lead Pac-10s After First Round

Eugene, Ore. - The No. 4 USC women's golf team finished in first place after the opening round of the Pac-10 Championships on Monday at the Eugene (Ore.) Country Club.
The Women of Troy shot a 292 to fend off top-ranked Arizona, who ended the day seven strokes behind in second. USC was paced by freshman Candie Kung, who tied two others for second (71), one stroke behind leader Amanda Moltke-Leth (70) of UCLA.
Two other Trojans finished tied for fifth with a 72 round: freshman Mikaela Parmlid and senior Linda Ishii. Sophomore Leila Chartrand tied for 21st (77), while junior Nicole Dalkas tied for 56th (84).
The Pac-10 Championships resume today and will conclude tomorrow.
