Women Of Troy Golf Finishes Sixth At Arizona Invitational

Tucson, Ariz. - Candie Kung continued her impressive freshman season by firing a one-over-par 217 to help lead the No. 3 Women of Troy to a sixth place finish at the Arizona Invitational held at Randolph Park Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz., on Wednesday (Feb. 23).
USC shot 881 as a team (tied with San Jose State) and placed 24 strokes behind tourney host and champion Arizona (857). Arizona State was second (864), followed by Stanford (865), Duke (873) and New Mexico State (874). It was the first time this season that the Women of Troy did not have a top five tournament finish.
Individually, Kung's 217 score tied for 13th (her lowest finish this season), but was only six strokes back of tourney champion Beth Bauer of Duke (211). Also for the Trojans, senior Linda Ishii tied for 23rd (220), freshman Yon Yim tied for 36th (223), sophomore Leila Chartrand tied for 50th (226) and junior Nicole Dalkas tied for 66th (231).
USC next travels to Hawaii on Mar. 28-30 to compete in the University of Hawaii's Dr. Donnis Thompson Rainbow Wahine Invitational.
