LOS ANGELES - Freshman Tim Wollthan scored a team-high three goals Sunday as the No. 2 USC Trojans defeated the No. 5 UC Irvine Anteaters, 11-8, in a non-conference match at McDonald's Swim Stadium. With the win, USC improves to 15-4 overall while UC Irvine falls to 14-5 overall.
Both teams alternated goals through the start of the second period before the Trojans scored three straight goals to take a 6-3 lead at halftime.
USC will travel to Pepperdine next Saturday (Nov. 4) and host Stanford on Sunday (Nov. 5).
