Trojan Club Team Wins Nationals

ATHERTON, Calif. - The USC water polo program captured its third major championship over the last year as the Trojan club team won the 1999 Men's Summer Senior Nationals over the weekend (July 30-Aug. 1).
Previously, the USC men's water polo team won the 1998 NCAA championship last December and the USC women's water polo team won the national championship in May.
Senior Peter Janov was named MVP of the competition, while junior George Csazar earned All-American first team and sophomore Ivan Babic was named All-American second team.
USC beat the New York Athletic Club, 8-7, in Sunday's championship. USC posted a 5-1 overall record, including a pool victory over the Bruin club team, 6-4, on Saturday.
