LOS ANGELES - Eric Munson, an All-American baseball player at USC and the third overall pick in the 1999 professional draft, was the subject of a 12-day series in the San Diego Union-Tribune over the last couple of weeks.
The series focused on Munson and Eric Chavez, a pair of San Diegans who grew up playing baseball together and both signed letters-of-intent to attend USC. But the duo split up when Munson chose USC, while Chavez signed with the Oakland A's.
