Top-Ranked Trojans Win Shootout with Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. - The top-ranked USC men's water polo team scored four two-point goals en route to a 15-13 victory over No. 3 Stanford in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game on Saturday (Nov. 17) at deGuerre Pool.
The Trojans, who improved to 18-1 overall and 6-0 in the MPSF, were led by senior driver Marko Pintaric's four points on two two-point scores. Four other Trojans scored two points apiece.
USC opened to a 5-0 lead in the first period and led throughout most of the game. Stanford tied the game at 9-9 with 48 seconds to go in the third period. Trojan sophomore driver George Csaszar, however, broke the tie with a two-point goal at the end of the third period, putting USC ahead for good, 11-9.
USC junior goalie Richard McEvoy had 11 saves on the day.
