No. 1 Men's Water Polo Sinks Pepperdine, 11-5

MALIBU, Calif. - Sophomore driver George Csaszar kept his hot start going, as well as the start of the No. 1 USC men's water polo team, as the Trojans defeated No. 4 Pepperdine, 11-5, on Saturday.
Csaszar scored six goals, giving him 21 points in seven games. The Trojans improved to 7-0 this season and 1-0 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.
Pepperdine fell to 2-3, 0-1.
The Waves jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead, but USC scored six of the game's next seven goals to take a 6-3 halftime lead.
The Waves climbed to within 6-5 with 2:12 remaining in the third quarter, but the Trojans scored the final five goals of the contest (including three by Csaszar) to secure the victory.
Goalie Richard McEvoy made 10 saves for the Trojans, while Ivan Babic, James Castle, Johnathon Hewko, Peter Janov and Marko Pintaric each scored one goal.
The Trojans next host Pacific on Saturday (Oct. 3) at 1 p.m., then host UC Irvine on Sunday (Oct. 4) at noon.
