NCAA Water Polo Championships Set

LOS ANGELES - The matchups for the 1998 NCAA Men's Water Polo Championships were set on Sunday night, and top-ranked USC will take on UMass in a national semifinal on Friday in Corona del Mar.

The Trojans (23-3) and the Minutemen (27-4) will meet in game one at 6:30 p.m. on Friday (Dec.4), while Stanford (20-6) and UC San Diego (17-11) will square off in the other semifinal at 8 p.m.

USC placed third at the MPSF Championships and received the at-large bid. Stanford won the tournament.

The championship is Sunday at 3 p.m. USC, which is seeking its first-ever title, has played in four of the last five championship games.
