WESTCHESTER, Calif. - The USC women's soccer team suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Loyola Marymount on Sunday afternoon.
The Women of Troy (4-4-1) outshot the Lions, 12-7, but once again had trouble creating and finishing chances.
More trouble for USC came in the way of injuries, as four key starters had to leave the field and did not return: senior forward Courtney Barham in the first half and senior midfielder Carol Hatcher, senior defender Meghan Reppe and junior midfielder Kim Clark.
The Lions (6-0-2) played well defensively and got two goals from senior forward Jessica Lyon, one in the 18th minute and the other in the 50th minute.
USC's next game is at Cal State Fullerton on Thursday (Oct. 1) at 7 p.m.
