Basso Named To All-MPSF First Team

LOS ANGELES - USC senior driver Allen Basso, following an outstanding water polo season, was named to the All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation first team today, the conference office announced.

Basso led the Trojans with 51 points in 1999. It more than doubled his previous career high and in his first three seasons, he scored only a total of 50 points.

Five other Trojans earned All-MPSF honors. Senior goalie Richard McEvoy made the second team, junior driver George Csaszar and senior 2-meter men Peter Janov and James Castle made the third team and sophomore utility Ivan Babic picked up honorable mention notice.

USC finished the year with a 22-5 record.
