Men's Water Polo Blasts Cal, 13-5

LOS ANGELES - Eight different Trojans scored goals, including four by sophomore utility man Ivan Babic, to lead the No. 3 USC men's water polo team to a 13-5 victory over No. 4 California in a non-conference contest on Sunday at the McDonald's Swim Stadium.
USC improved to 18-3 overall, while the Bears fell to 9-10 on the year.
The Trojans dominated the entire match. USC took a quick lead, scoring three goals in the first quarter, and led 6-1 at halftime. After the Bears' Albert Won opened up the second half with his first of two goals on the day, Babic responded with three goals the third quarter, keeping the Trojans in control for the remainder of the game.
Senior goalie Richard McEvoy maintained a strong defense for the Trojans with 15 saves on the day, tying a season high, and USC sophomore 2-meter man Adam Guerrero scored two goals for the second straight game.
USC next visits No. 1 UCLA on Friday (Nov. 12) at 3 p.m. in one of the most important MPSF contests of the year.
