Cynthia Woodhead (Kantzer) Brennan

Cynthia Woodhead (Kantzer) Brennan, nicknamed “Sippy,” was a 3-time All-American swimmer for the Women of Troy. One of the world’s elite swimmers, she set 7 world and 16 American records and won a silver medal in the 1984 Olympics (she also qualified for the boycotted 1980 Games). She was the runner-up for the Sullivan Award in 1979. She then became an assistant swim coach at USC. She also did television commentating. She was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Riverside Sports Hall of Fame in 2003. In 2016, she was named to the Pac-12 All-Century team.
