Fan Commitment To Good Sportsmanship
We have many traditions, but bad sportsmanship is not one of them. One of the primary goals of the USC Athletics is to promote first-class conduct at each of our athletics events. It is important that coaches, players, staff, spirit groups, students and fans always represent USC in a positive manner.
The following sportsmanship guidelines were created to promote and maintain a safe, comfortable, inclusive, and family-friendly experience at each USC Athletics venue:
- Refrain from behavior and language based on race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender expression or gender identity
- Respect the dignity and personal space of all staff, fans, officials, student-athletes and opposing teams
- Foster an environment free from all forms of discrimination, including harassment
- Prohibited behaviors and actions include throwing objects, entering the competition surface or field, disrupting the competition, touching others without their permission, and any behavior that denies others access to the benefits of the athletic event
- Drink responsibly when choosing to consume alcoholic beverages prior to an athletic event. Fans who appear unruly and intoxicated will be denied access to USC events and are subject to ejection
- Expect and encourage good displays of sportsmanship from fellow fans
- Cheer, show your Trojan pride, and be loud in a respectful manner. Antagonizing or taunting others is not the same as cheering
- Fans may utilize only the seat or seats for which they have tickets
- Respect all facility regulations and comply with public address announcements.
- USC has established a no smoking and tobacco policy on all-campus property. Smoking and the use of tobacco products, including vaping, is strictly prohibited
Those appearing intoxicated will be denied entry or will be subject to ejection. USC Athletics fans are also expected to uphold these expectations when visiting other venues. Together, we create a first-class environment for all fans, coaches, players, and officials.
Athletes, Coaches and Staff
As representatives of USC Athletics, we expect our athletes, coaches and staff to uphold our commitment to sportsmanship by creating an atmosphere of respect. Unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated.
Fans and students
Racial, sexist, derogatory or profane actions or language directed toward players, coaches, team representatives, officials, event management or other spectators will not be tolerated. Event management personnel – with cooperation from campus security – reserves the right to remove attendees from the competition site.
