Josh Shoemaker is in his fifth year in the USC Athletic Department and his fourth (2026) as the Director of Operations for USC lacrosse.
Shoemaker "Shoe" first joined the Trojans’ staff in 2021 as an assistant director of equipment operations in charge of lacrosse, soccer, and both the men’s and women’s golf programs. Shoemaker moved into his position as lacrosse director of operations in the summer of 2022 and was a member of the staff when the Trojans won the 2023 Pac-12 Championship and secured a berth in the NCAA tournament.
In his role, Shoemaker manages all aspects of the program’s operations including budget and Nike apparel allotment. He coordinates team travel, including flights, hotels, and ground transportation, and assists with alumni relations.
In his career, Shoemaker has collected more than 13 years of collegiate and professional experience in equipment management, operations, and logistics. Before arriving in Los Angeles, Shoemaker supported all 22 sports as Director of Equipment Operations at East Stroudsburg University in 2021. Shoemaker also served as an equipment coordinator for the UFC in Las Vegas (2017-20). He got his start as a student football equipment manager (2014-15) and was later promoted to assistant football equipment manager (2015-17) at Incarnate Word.
Shoemaker graduated from San Antonio College with an Associate of Arts degree in liberal arts and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in sports management from Incarnate Word in 2015.
Shoemaker was born in Alexandria, Va., and has lived in Hawai’i and San Antonio, Texas.
