Throughout her career life, she has held positions as a television producer, an event manager, a marketing and communications manager, and as an executive assistant.
Most notably, Wilkas spent five years (2018-23) as the operations manager for the p1440 Foundation. There, she planned and supervised national tournaments, developed and implemented a regional outreach plan, maintained budgets, and managed the organization’s online registration platform.
Wilkas also served as p1440’s marketing, communications, and partnership activation manager. Under her direction, the company’s first-ever weekly e-newsletter grew to reach over 10,000 community members.
Prior to her initial foray into the beach volleyball world, Wilkas spent over a decade (2000-12) in television production where she was a supervising producer and worked on awarding-winning television shows such as Survivor (CBS), The Apprentice (NBC), The Contender (NBC), Ironman World Championship (NBC), Top Chef (Bravo), and Eco-Challenge (USA). Among her responsibilities, Wilkas served as a location scout, a contract negotiator, crew supervisor, and network liaison.
In politics, Wilkas served as deputy director of scheduling during the 2000 U.S. Presidential election where she helped coordinate candidate movements and appearances in California. She also spent three years as a press officer and business affairs liaison at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative in D.C. Prior to her move to Los Angeles, Wilkas was the director of communications at the Make-a-Wish Foundation’s mid-Atlantic chapter in Washington, D.C.
Wilkas earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in international relations from The George Washington University where she also minored in both French and Spanish. She is the mother to two sons and has summited both Mount Whitney in California and Mount Rainier in Washington. She enjoys being with her family and friends, volunteering, skiing, open-water swimming, running, and training for triathlons.
