A three-time IWLCA All-American midfielder as a collegian, Cassidy Spilis is in her second season (2026) as an assistant coach for the Women of Troy. Her appointment to the position in July 2024 was her first as a collegiate coach.
As a midfielder at Rutgers, Spilis was a three-time IWLCA All-American (2021, ’22, ’24) and was twice named the Big Ten Midfielder of the Year (2022, ’24). Her accolades also include four All-America selections by Inside Lacrosse (2021-24) and three by USA Lacrosse Magazine (2022-24). Following her collegiate career, Spilis was selected 13th overall in the AU Pro Lacrosse Draft and earned a spot on the U.S. Women’s Sixes National Team.
Spilis was a three-time team captain for the Scarlet Knights (2022-24) and was a four-time choice for the All-Big Ten First Team, the Big Ten All-Tournament Team, and the Big Ten All-Academic Team. In 2024, she received the Big Ten’s Medal of Honor. She was also a four-time IWLCA All-Region team member and a four-time nominee to the official Tewaaraton Award Watch List.
Spilis completed her collegiate career as Rutgers’ all-time career leader in points (281), goals (266), and draw controls (313). In her final season, she set the Knights’ single-season goal record at 74 (2024). In high school, Spilis was a two-time All-American, a four-year varsity letterwinner, and a two-year captain at Seneca where she was one of the most prolific scorers in New Jersey history. She totaled 331 goals and had 386 points in her illustrious career.
Spilis earned a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Rutgers in 2023 and was enrolled in the Master of Education program during her graduate season in 2024.
