USC head baseball coach Andy Stankiewicz announced the addition Andy Jenkins to the USC baseball coaching staff on Aug. 26, 2022. Jenkins was elevated from volunteer status to a full-time assistant following the 2023 season. He enters his third season with the Trojans heading into the 2025 campaign.
In his two years at USC thus far, Jenkins has helped the Trojans to the first back-to-back 30-win seasons for the program since 2001-02, and back-to-back Top 4 conference finishes for the first time since 2014-15. Jenkins assists with the offense and coaches the USC catchers.
Jenkins came to USC with seven years of professional playing experience and 10 years of collegiate coaching experience. He has been to Omaha four times as a player and coach, winning a College World Series title while on staff at Oregon State in 2018.

He understands and knows the game of baseball as he played professionally for seven years after a great career at Oregon State. He will assist in hitting and team offense, as well as develop our catching staff. Andy is considered one of the finest young coaches in our game today and we are thrilled to have him on board.”

Jenkins spent 2022 as an assistant at Washington and the two previous years with Cal State Fullerton. Prior to that, Jenkins spent seven years on staff at Oregon State, which included a 2018 College World Series title, and CWS appearances in 2013 and 2017 as well. He was also a standout collegiate player for the Beavers in 2004 and 2005.
Jenkins has an elite track record of developing catchers, having worked with Adley Rutschman and Logan Ice while with Oregon State. Rutschman was the 2019 College World Series Most Outstanding Player and the 2019 Golden Spikes Award winner as the top amateur player in the country. He was the No. 1 Overall Pick in the 2019 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles. Ice was the 2016 Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year after throwing out 44% of base runners. He was selected in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians.
A standout player in the Pac-10 for Oregon State, Jenkins was a first-team All-Pac-10 selection in 2005, hitting .388 to lead OSU to its first College World Series in over 50 years at the time. In their postseason run, Jenkins led the Beavers with a .459 average while driving in 13 runs.
He was drafted in the 11th round of the 2005 MLB Draft by the Florida Marlins and played seven years professionally, reaching as high as the AAA level. After his playing career, Jenkins returned to OSU and graduated with a degree in psychology in 2012.
A Salem, Ore. native, Jenkins is married to the former Jessica McGee. They have two daughters, Blakely and Presley.
