- Went 2-2 in match play this season, with both wins coming at the East Lake Cup. Helped propel the Trojans past the Bruins at the East Lake Cup semifinals with a win from the No. 4 spot in extra holes (W, 21 holes). Â
- Posted one top 10 finish and five top-25 finishes during her senior season.Â

JUNIOR/2023-24
- Kou participated in seven of the 11 tournaments the Women of Troy played.
- Finished with a stroke average of 74.11, posted five rounds of par or better, and accumulated 41 birdies.
- Recorded her best finish at the stroke-play portion of the East Lake Cup, finishing tied for second after one round.
SOPHOMORE/2022-23
- All-Pac-12 First Team, after earning honorable mention status during her freshman campaign.Â
- Earned the status of Pac-12 Women’s Golfer of the Week (Mar. 7), after her top-five finish at the ICON Invitational in Houston.Â
- Started in 11 tournaments, finishing with a 72.59 stroke average and had three top-ten finishes, including a top five finish at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
- Recorded three rounds in the 60s and posted nine rounds under par with 17 rounds of par or better.
- Shot ten-under at the ICON Invitational, which led the squad, and pushed her to 23-under for her career at the Golf Club of Houston.Â
- Finished amongst the top-25 in seven tournaments, as she started the year with six-straight top-25 finishes.
FRESHMAN/2021-22
- All-Pac-12 honorable mention As a 2021-22 freshman and had one of the best starts to her career in school history.
- Started all 13 tournaments as a true freshman, finishing with a 73.90 stroke average and five top 10 finishes, including four in the top 5. She had seven rounds in the 60s (tied for fifth most in school history) and posted 10 rounds under par with 14 rounds of par or better.
- Her 13-under at the Icon Invitational is tied for the third-best total in school history. She tied for third at the event.
- Kou showed no signs of freshman jitters in her debut tournament as a Trojan, taking third at the ANNIKA Invitational at 8-under 208 (68-73-67). It was the most under par in a USC opener since Malia Nam, also as a freshman, took second at the same event at 12-under on Sept. 19, 2018.
- Kou was just the third Trojan freshman in over 20 years to record four straight top 15s to start the season, following Nam in fall 2018 and Jennifer Song in the fall 2008. She is just the sixth Trojan overall in more than 20 years to post at least four rounds in the 60s in her first 3 events, joining Nam (five, 2019), Karen Chung (4, 2016), Annie Park (four, 2015), Kyung Kim (five, 2014), and Song (five, 2010).
- Reached the quarterfinals of the 2022 North & South Amateur Championship after finishing T4 in stroke play (-4) and she was third at the 2022 SCGA Women’s Amateur Championship.
AMATEUR CAREER
- Among the top amateurs in the U.S. as a junior golfer, was a five-time Rolex Junior All-American.
- Shortly before joining USC as a freshman, Kou reached the round of 32 at the 2021 U.S. Women’s Amateur and reached match play at the 2021 U.S. Girls Junior Championship.
- Kou, a 2020 AJGA Rolex first teamer who was ranked third nationally, won 11 career AJGA events, tied for seventh most all time among female golfers. That total includes victories at the 2020 AJGA Girls Invitational at Stanford (9-under 204) – her fourth win at the event – and the 2020 AJGA Longbow Golf Club Open (13-under 129). She was also seventh at the 2020 PING Invitational …Kou reached the round of 32 at the 2021 U.S. Women’s Amateur.
- She played in the 2019 Wyndam Cup, competing against current teammate Brianna Navarrosa. Also in 2019, she won the ANA Inspiration Junior where she squared off in an epic dual with current teammate Jiarui (Joyce) Jin. They finished tied for first at 4-under 212 before playing a three-hole playoff that Kou won with a par on the final hole. Kou also took second at the Se Ri Pak Junior Championship, was sixth at the Thunderbird International Junior and seventh at the Swinging Skirts AJGA InvitationalÂ
PERSONAL
- Kou is a Business Administration major. She was born in Beijing and moved to the U.S. almost a decade ago with her mom.
- Both her mom, Haiyan Wu, and her father, Liguo Kou, are avid golfers. Her father has won many amateur events in China.
- Kou and her mother moved to the U.S. to find more golfing opportunities, starting in Bradenton, Fla., before moving to Orlando and then to Southern California.
