THIS YEAR:
Freshman Chase McCallum is in his first season as a distance runner on the USC track and field team.
HIGH SCHOOL:
McCallum is a 2024 graduate of Bishop Gorman High in Las Vegas. He has personal bests of 1:51.71 in the 800m and 54.34 in the 400m hurdles, which is the Nevada state record. He also has a 300m hurdles best time of 38.59. He was named to the 2024 All-Southern Nevada Track and Field first team as he won the 5A 300m hurdles title with a time of 38.67 and the 800m title with a time of 1:54.01 …the events were run back-to-back. He also helped the Gaels place second in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 7:56.06. He was a three-time state champion, four-time All-American and won a national title with the 4x800m relay.
PERSONAL:
Chase was born on June 7, 2006 in Chicago, Ill..…His mother’s name is Nicole and he has three siblings, Myka, Bryce and Zayla…His favorite musical artists are Travis Scott and ASAP Rocky and his favorite movies are all the Jordan Peele films…His favorite food is Canes….Someday would like to travel to Bora Bora…After graduation he would like to be a financial executive or work in the business world of sports…McCallum is a Business major at USC.
