Sean McMannes is entering his seventh season as an assistant athletic trainer for USC football.
In 2019, McMannes joined the USC football training staff, where he coordinates the medical onboarding of current and incoming football student-athletes. He facilitates daily student-athlete care, treatments, and rehabilitations for the team.
McMannes was an athletic trainer at Fresno State University from 2017-19. There, he cared for the football athletes’ daily treatments and recovery while also overseeing athletic training for the men's and women's cross country and track and field teams.
In March 2017, McMannes returned to his alma mater, the University of Arizona, serving as an assistant athletic trainer. He provided coverage of the Kasser Medical Center, housing 19 of the university's varsity sports. He also medically prepared all practices and events for the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams.
Before returning to the Wildcats, he was the head athletic trainer for the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League (IFL) in 2014. He served as the sole provider of daily care and preparation for all practices and games. He was responsible for the coordination of any medical care for the team, coaches and staff.
McMannes was a seasonal assistant athletic trainer for the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he supervised the athletic training interns and was responsible for the baseline concussion testing for all players.
He served a yearlong internship as an athletic trainer for the Oakland Raiders in 2012, focusing on treatments, rehabilitation and the setup of emergency equipment and hydration stations for practices and games.
In 2011, McMannes went to graduate school at Texas Tech University and worked in the athletic training room. He earned his master’s degree in athletic training in 2012.
McMannes graduated with a bachelor’s in health sciences with a major in physiology from University of Arizona in 2009 where he also worked as a student athletic training technician.
