Joseph Wood is in his eighth year with the USC football program, including his second as assistant athletic director for football/chief of staff after spending the previous 4 seasons (2016-19) as executive director of football operations/chief of staff. Prior to his current role, Wood served as USC’s assistant director of football operations for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
Wood’s primary responsibilities include the day-to-day management of the football program and its administrative staff, oversight of the football budget and team travel, and bowl game coordination. In addition, he is the team’s liaison to the athletic department and university community.
Wood currently serves as the team’s NFL pro liaison and is on the Rose Bowl Game Advisory Committee as well as the College Football Playoff Advisory Committee.
Prior to USC, Wood was an assistant in the football equipment room at Washington.
A native of Fremont, Calif., Wood earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Washington in 2010.
