Derek Marckel was named director of creative media for USC football in March of 2021.
He spent 2020 as the football creative director at Michigan State after being a graphic designer for Colorado’s football program in 2019.
He was assistant director of creative services at Toledo’s athletic department for 3 seasons (2016-18). He held a graphic design internship with Toledo’s athletic marketing department in the summer of 2014.
He received his bachelor’s degree in visual communication technology from Bowling Green in 2016. While at Bowling Green, he was the head graphic artist for Haas-Jordan Umbrellas in Toledo.
He played football and baseball at Whiteford High in Ottawa Lake, Mich.
