Chris Carter enters his second season as the director of player development. He joined the USC staff in January of 2022.

He spent the 2021 season as defensive recruiting analyst at Oklahoma.
Â
He served a fellowship with the NFLPA’s The Trust in 2020 and 2021, helping former NFL players succeed in life after football.
Â
He worked at StubHub in business development and partnerships in 2020 and was a primary partner and assistant chief revenue officer with the Clare York Group from 2015 to 2019.  He also was worked as a youth foundation director (Chris Carter 4 Youth Foundation and The Carter After School Program) and motivational speaker.

He was an outside linebacker in the NFL for 7 years (2011-17) with the Pittsburgh Steelers (2011-13), Indianapolis Colts (2014, 2016), Cincinnati Bengals (2014-15), Baltimore Ravens (2015-16) and Washington Redskins (2017).  He served on the NFLPA Board of Player Representatives while with the Ravens.

He was an outside linebacker and defensive end at Fresno State (2007-10), where he was an All-WAC first teamer in 2009 and won WAC Defensive MVP honors in 2010.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in communication and media studies from Fresno State in 2011 and a master’s degree in business administration from Miami in 2017.  He also earned an NFL business management and entrepreneurial program certificate from Penn’s Wharton School in 2015.

He prepped at Kaiser High in Fontana (Calif.).

He was born on April 6, 1989.  His brother, David, was a defensive lineman at UCLA (2007-10) who then played defensive end with the Arizona Cardinals (2011-12) and Dallas Cowboys (2013).
