Brittany Thackery

Brittany Thackery joined the USC staff as the Director of Player Engagement in January of 2023.
She spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons as the Associate Athletic Director for Football Administration at Mississippi State. She assisted with the organization and execution of recruiting efforts and was responsible for assisting freshmen with their transition to MSU. She was also the liaison for overall student-athlete development and aided in the operations of the Bulldog football program.
Prior to her stint in Starkville, she spent four years at Washington State (2016-2020), where she worked in student-athlete development from 2016-17 and then as an Academic and Transitions Advisor from 2017-18. Thackery then transitioned to her role in football working with the late Mike Leach beginning in 2018. Her first role was as the Cougars' Manager of Player Personnel and then was elevated to Director of Player Personnel in November 2019.
Prior to Washington State, she was an assistant softball coach for Bowling Green State University (2015-16) and Miami University (2014-15), both located in Ohio.
Thackery, a native of Laguna Niguel, Calif., was a four-time All-American outfielder for the University of Arizona softball team (2008-11), earning first-team honors her final three seasons. Thackery, the former Brittany Lastrapes, set a Women’s College World Series record with 13 hits in the 2010 Women’s College World Series. As a senior, Thackery was one of ten finalists for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award, recognizing an athlete in each sport for excellence and accomplishments in community, classroom, character and competition.
She was recently inducted into the Arizona Athletics Sports Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2022.
Thackery earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Arizona in 2011 and master’s degree in sport administration from Bowling Green in 2017. Thackery and her husband, Adam, have one daughter, Charlotte.
