Among her various duties, her primary focus was on official visits, unofficial visits, game day recruiting programming, junior days, clinics and other special events, as well as developing strategic planning centered around the program's defined recruiting goals and integrating the enhanced application of data analytics into the football recruiting process. Oklahoma had Top 10 ranked recruiting classes in her first 4 years (Top 5 in 2019). She was recognized by ESPN in 2021 for her strong work in recruiting, administration, and branding, was named by The Oklahoman in 2020 as a “21st Century Woman” and was FootballScoop’s Co-Player Personnel Director of the Year in 2019. Hanson helped her team sign 7 of OU’s “Top 25 All-Time Best Recruits”. She also served as the secondary sport administrator for OU’s track and field and cross country program.
She spent 2 seasons (2015-16) as director of on-campus recruiting and assistant athletics director for recruiting operations and external affairs at North Carolina. She was named to 247Sports' 30 Under 30 in 2017 after securing 2 Top 25 recruiting classes at UNC and she participated in the ACC Senior Woman Administrator Leadership Counsel. The Tar Heels played in the 2015 Russell Athletic Bowl and 2016 Sun Bowl.
She served as the assistant director of development for Oklahoma Athletics in 2014. There she helped set a department record in revenue generation ($23.9 million in private funds). She was awarded the OU Provost’s Certificate of Distinction for Outstanding Teaching as a teaching assistant for the “Leading the Collegiate Student-Athlete” business school course.
She also worked at Kansas State, Nebraska and with the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars prior to her first appointment at OU, her alma mater.
She earned All-Big 12 first team and Academic All-Big 12 honors as a team leader and steeplechase record holder in Oklahoma’s track and field program. She also served as vice president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Sooner Sports Management Club, and was involved in Oklahoma’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter.
She earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2012 and a master's degree in intercollegiate athletics administration in 2014, both from Oklahoma.
Hanson prepped at Riley (Kan.) County High where she earned 12 state championship titles as a multi-sport athlete (track, basketball, cross country).
She is married to Zach Hanson, USC’s Assistant Head Coach for Offense / Tight Ends Coach. The Hanson’s commitment to excellence extends to their work in the community with Big Brothers Big Sisters and other philanthropic organizations.
