Adrian Briones was named an assistant strength and conditioning coach in January of 2021.
Briones spent 2020 as the director of health and wellness at Delta Health Center in Mound Bayou (Miss.).
Before that, he was director of strength and conditioning at Prairie View A&M in 2018 and 2019.
He spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons at Houston Baptist as the director of athletic performance.
He was the head strength and conditioning coach at Delaware State for 3 seasons (2013-15).
He was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Bethune-Cookman for 3 years (2011-13).
He began his career as an intern strength and conditioning coach in 2007 at Belhaven, his alma mater. He then spent the spring of 2008 an an intern strength and conditioning coach at the United State Olympic Committee training site in Colorado Springs as well as a volunteer strength and conditioning coach at the U.S. Air Force Academy. He was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at D1 Sports Training in the summer of 2008. He then spent 3 seasons at Tennessee, first as an intern strength and conditioning coach in 2008 and then as a graduate assistant in 2009 and 2010.
He was a 2-way lineman at Tyler (Tex.) Junior College and a defensive lineman Belhaven.
He received his associate’s degree in economics and general studies from Tyler JC in 2004, a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Belhaven in 2007 and a master’s degree in kinesiology from Tennessee in 2011.
He holds certifications from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, USA Weightlifting Sport Performance Level 1 and United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Strength and Conditioning Coach.
He is a native of Huntsville (Tex.).
