THIS YEAR:Â Senior Madison Ricks begins her final season at USC as an 800m and 1500m runner for the track and field team. She competes in cross country in the Fall.
2017:Â Ricks had a time of 2:18.28 in the 800m at the Cal Collegiate on April 1, her only 800m race of the season. Set a 1500m PR with a time of 4:42.89 at the Beach Invitational on April 15. Finished fifth in the 5000m with a time of 18:58.63 at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 30.
2016: Competed in four races during the track season. Had a season-best time of 2:14.73 in the 800m to finish 8th at the Trojan Invitational on March 19. She was fourth in the 1500m at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on May 1 with a time of 4:50.58. Madison was awarded the USC Marks Scholar Athlete Award of Honor. She was having an outstanding 2016 XC campaign before an injury cut short her season.
2015: Ricks competed in just two meets before having to sit out the rest of the season due to injury. Competed in cross country this past Fall and represented USC at the Pac-12 Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL: Ricks is a 2014 graduate of California High in San Ramon, Calif. She was a four-time East Bay Athletic League 800m champion and was picked as a top 125 high school athlete in 2012 in the East Bay....She was the California High track and cross country team MVP four times. She served as the cross country and track team captain. She competed in cross country her last two years of high school. She won the 3-mile cross country race at the Farmers Invite in 2013 with a time of 18:30.8. She had a 3-mile best of 18:01 to take fourth at the CIF NCS Cross Country Championships, leading her team to a second-place finish. Ricks had a 5K best of 18:51 to place 67th at the California Cross Country State Meet. In track, she qualified for the state meet three times and has an 800m PR of 2:09.52 to win the NCS Meet of Champions in 2012....Her time set a school record and is the eighth-fastest in the history of the North Coast Section. She was 21st in the 800m race at the 2014 CIF Championships with a time of 2:17.82. She placed 21st in the mile race with a time of 5:05.07 at the 2014 Stanford Invitational...Her 1600m best is 4:59.25 set at the EBAL Finals and in her only 3200m race, had a time of 11:04.16 to place second at the 2014 Dublin Distance Fiesta. Ricks was named the 2013-2014 Danville Rotary Female Athlete of the Year.  Madison was a 4.1 GPA Scholar Athlete and had a 4.3 GPA as a junior. She was a National Honors Society and a California Scholarship Federation member.
PERSONAL: Madison was born on Oct. 20, 1996 in San Ramon, Calif...Her parents are Matthew and Collette Ricks and she has one brother, Dalton, who graduated from USC...Lists her sports hero as Louie Zamperini...Lists her hobbies as playing sports, paddle boarding, going on hikes and spending time with family and friends...Helped teach Sunday School at her church...Would like to travel to The Netherlands where her grandparents immigrated from and where her mom's side of the family is from...After she earns her undergraduate degree from USC she plans to earn an MBA...She also would like to compete in the Olympics...Madison is a Communication major with a minor in Sports Media.
