New Internal Crediting Business Rules
With the introduction of Victory Points, a new annual giving model, and a new lifetime giving society USC Athletics will credit donor accounts in accordance with the business rules below.
Victory Points Credit
- Only one donor account will receive Victory Points for each donation made.
- Victory Points will be shared between spouses but will not be shared with other family members.
- If a donor is donating in someone else’s name, the designee will then earn the Victory Points instead.
- In order for a donor’s Victory Points to be active, a donor must have either made an annual fund gift in the current fiscal year or are current on an active major gift pledge.
Annual Giving Stewardship
- Seating fund donations must be associated with the same account as their respective season tickets.
- Annual giving benefits and recognition will be associated to the same account that is receiving the respective Victory Points for each donation.
- Annual giving recognition will be shared between spouses but will not be shared with other family members.
Lifetime Giving Credit
- In alignment with USC Advancement gift crediting practices, the donor who makes the donation will receive “hard” credit for each donation given to USC Athletics with the donor’s spouse receiving “soft” credit for each donation. Both “hard” and “soft” credit will count towards the respective donor’s lifetime giving within USC Athletics.
- In alignment with USC Advancement gift crediting practices, if a donor is donating in the name of a child, the donor will receive “hard” credit for each donation and the child will receive “soft” credit for each donation if specifically requested. In this instance, both “hard” and “soft” credit will count towards the respective donor’s lifetime giving within USC Athletics.
