Lexus Gauntlet Trophy Presented At USC

The Lexus Gauntlet Trophy, given to the winner of the year-long all-sports competition between USC and UCLA, was presented today at Heritage Hall.
Bob Wills of the Southern California Lexus Dealers Association presented the 150-pound pewter-gilded trophy to USC athletic director Mike Garrett and various Trojan coaches and staff.
USC captured this year's trophy by a 57.5 to 52.5 score. In the previous two Gauntlet races, the competition ended in a 55-55 tie and a tiebreaker had to be used. The Trojans won the inaugural trophy in 2001-02 and UCLA won it last season.
The schools compete against each other in 18 sports throughout the year.
